Fitting the four section bodywork needs quite a lot of work.
You will need to cut, trim and adjust in a number of places.
You will need to cut, trim and adjust in a number of places.
The basic thing is to fit the rear engine canopy first and get it correct.
Then fit the two side panels to line up with the rear body.
Then fit the nose section to line up with the side pods.
I had to cut out the area around the cockpit on the nose section.
There is a faint line scribed into the grp to mark where to cut.
The fitting relies especially on the front and rear subframes being correct.
The rear engine cover section is a particularly tight fit around the air box.
You will also need to cut a hole in the side and bond the air intake duct to exactly the correct position to match the internal airbox intake when the bodywork is closed down.
Sadly the body fitting didn't work out too well as it required alterations to the front and rear subframes.
However Henry at ARL kindly agreed to deal with the body fitting.
Along with fitting a couple of rear lights a rear wing and a dash of paint, the finished article looks rather splendid I must say.
So, there we have it.
The car is booked into a track day for shake down and setup runs.
There is a lot more that one can do on this car, especially if it is to be used for competition.
It needs a fire extinguisher, some mirrors, corner weighting setup and more engine tuning but what we have will already be loads of fun.
